Paul M. Nasby
PAUL M. NASBY,84, of Jackson passed away at his residence on Friday,
March 24, 2017. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Jackson at 11 AM with Pastor Lance Isaacson officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Riverside Cemetery in Jackson.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM and on Wednesday – one hour prior to the service, all at the Church.
PAUL MELVIN NASBY was born on July 21, 1932 in Des Moines Township, Jackson County, Minnesota, the son of Ellsworth and Mabel (Olson) Nasby. He attended country school and then graduated from Jackson High School in 1950. Following his education, he farmed with his father until he was drafted into the US Army on November 4, 1952. He served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict until his discharge on September 15, 1954. After his discharge, he came home to farm with his father and brother, Lowell. That partnership lasted through their working years and he retired in December of 1996. Paul was united in marriage to Clarice Carlson on June 10, 1956 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. This marriage was blessed with two children, Steven and Karen. Paul passed away at his home on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 3 days.
Paul was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Jackson, where he was baptized and confirmed. He served on the Church Council. In high school, Paul was active in 4-H and FFA. Paul was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau. Paul’s passions for life were his faith, his family, his farming and fishing. He was a somewhat quiet person and a man of few words. He loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed special trips with them. Family was very important to him.
Paul is survived by his wife of 60 years, Clarice Nasby of Jackson, his son, Steve, his daughter, Karen (Keith) Brosh, his 4 grandchildren, Faith Nasby, Jackson Nasby, Dustin Brosh and Courtney (Matt) Brosh Moen and a great-grandchild, Jase Moen; his brothers, Lowell (LoyAnn) Nasby and Mark (Marilyn) Nasby and his sisters, Enid (Dave) Hasbargen and Molly (Clem) Grover.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents and a niece, Kris Nasby.
